InterfaceFLOR wins BCFA Product Approval Award: Straightforward for excellent design

An innovative, sustainable carpet tile from InterfaceFLOR that is catching the eye in the hospitality sector has just scooped a prestigious Product Approval Award from the British Contract Furnishing Association (BCFA).

The award, accepted by InterfaceFLOR at a presentation held at London's Dorchester Hotel, entitles Straightforward to display the distinctive BCFA 'Approved tag' as a mark of approval that helps differentiate high quality products.

The key innovative features of Straightforward are centered on its sustainability, stylish design, robustness and flexibility.

The product is ideal for high-traffic areas such as hotels, restaurants and bars as the soft flooring covering, which is only 6mm thick, provides excellent comfort and sound absorption.

Straightforward is a new generation of random design carpet tiles that meets the growing demand in the UK and Europe for sustainable materials. Straightforward's microtuft construction uses less yarn than traditional carpet tiles as well as a non-directional installation method, which reduces wastage.

Among the features that impressed the BCFA judges was the design, which is based on biomimicry - studying the efficiency of natural systems that maximise their resources to eliminate waste - and the way nature provides a floor covering.
